ALT calibration procedure
ALT’s tuning can be sensitive to temperature.
if you have time, wait 15-20 minutes after turning it on so it warms up.
if you are in a hurry, you can use the detune mode (see manual) to adjust the tuning for each oscillator.
if ALT is still out of tune after 20 minutes (without having changed the detune settings), you can try to re-calibrate ALT (every unit has been calibrated by us during assembly).
steps described here must be followed precisely:
Tonic note calibration (no CV)
ALT is turned off - make sure no pins are in the matrix
maintain Notes clicked, turned on ALT and flip the tonic / scale switch - a LED animation should pop up - release Notes
click on Notes once - LED C# should appear
turn off ALT
turn on ALT - tonic note (frequency sliders down) should be in tune now
1V / octave CV tracking calibration
ALT should be able to track 1V / octave correctly on 4 to 5 octaves range.
if it’s not, the calibration can be revised:
ALT is turned off - make sure no pins are in the matrix
maintain Notes clicked, turned on ALT and flip the tonic / scale switch - a LED animation should pop up - release Notes
click on Notes once - LED C# should appear
plug in CV pitch a reliable -3V DC voltage source, careful, accuracy of the voltage send will determine the accuracy of your tracking - click on Notes - LED D# should appear
change voltage source to -1V DC - click on Notes - LED E# should appear
change voltage source to +1V DC - click on Notes - LED F# should appear
change voltage source to +3V DC - click on Notes - LED G# should appear
ALT should restart - you can unplug your voltage source - power off ALT and power it on again - new calibration has been saved
